Schedule a Parent Tour

See all of the children involved in daily Montessori, cultural and social activities and ask questions about the program. Parent tours take place from October through May. Tours are held daily.   Please call the Director of Admissions at 703-356-5437, ext. 2, to schedule a tour.  Tours are for adults only.

Application:

Applications must be submitted with a $90 nonrefundable application fee by February 1st for placement on our wait list. Applications submitted after February 1st will also be placed on our wait list and will be given consideration after applications received by the deadline. Appropriate openings for the next school year are directly determined by our re-enrollment status. If space is not available for your child, he or she will be placed back on the wait list to be considered for future openings.

Age Requirements:

Toddler-Two Year Old Program:

Brooksfield School enrolls students 2 years of age into our Toddler Program.  Brooksfield applicants must be 2 years of age by September 30th of the school year for which he/she is applying.  If space allows, mid-year enrollment is possible.  Toddler applicants DO NOT need to be potty-trained.

Pre-K and Kindergarten:

Brooksfield enrolls students 3 through 6 years of age. Brooksfield applicants must be 3 years of age by SEPTEMBER 30TH of the school year for which he/she is applying. If space allows, mid-year enrollement is possible.  Applicants for the Pre-K and Kindergarten Program MUST be potty-trained.  

Programs:

  •  Toddler-Two Year Old Program:  Brooksfield's Toddler program is designed for children ages 2 years of age by September 30th.  The Program consists of a 5 day a week schedule either 9am to 12pm, 9am to 3pm, 7:30am-5:55pm.  

  • Lower School Half Day Program (9:00am to 12:00pm): Brooksfield's Lower School Half Day program is designed for children who are 3 years of age ONLY.  To be eligible for enrollment the applicant must be 3 years of age by September 30th  for the year in which he/she is applying.

  • Lower School Full Day Program (9:00am-3:00pm): Brooksfield's Lower School Full Day Program is designed for children ages 3 through 6 years of age.  To be eligible for enrollment the applicant must be 3 years of age by September 30th for the year in which he/she is applying.

  • Extended Day Program: Our Extended Day Program (early morning and after school care) is open to enrolled Brooksfield Students ages 2 through 6 years of age.

  • Before and After School Extended Day Care for Chesterbrook, Haycock and Kent Gardens Students:

    Limited space is available for before and after school care for children enrolled in Chestebrook, Haycock and Kent Gardens Elementary Schools.  Before/After Care is available for children in K through 6th Grades.  Bus service will be provided to school in the morning to Chesterbrook, Haycock and Kent Gardens Elementary Schools.  The bus will pick up at Haycock and Kent Gardens at dismissal to bring students to Brooksfield for afternoon Extended Day.  Those students enrollend in Chesterbrook Elemenatary School will continue to ride the FCPS school bus to Brooksfield in the afternoons for Extended day.   Please call the Admissions office for more details.

Forms and Procedures:

Teacher Recommendation Forms and Transcripts

The Teacher Recommendation Form and transcripts must be sent directly to the applicant's current school. Recommendations and transcripts must be received by February 1st.

Financial Aid Fund:

Brooksfield School offers financial aid to admitted families on the basis of their individual needs and according to established guidelines.  The Marty Bowe Financial Aid Fund was established in the memory of our dear friend, Marty, who helped Brooksfield initiate its program.  The Fund is supported by the Brooksfield fundraiser and outside donations to assist families with tuition costs.  If you are interested, please inquire in the Admissions office.  Financial Aid applicants are required to submit 1040 and W-2 documentation via FACTS which will then be reviewed by Brooksfield's Board of Directors.  We welcome families of all socio-economic backgrounds.

Applicant Visits:

All applicant visits are scheduled by the Director of Admissions. For children applying to the Toddler and Lower School program, Brooksfield will contact you to schedule a 20-minute child visit if space allows for it. Applicant visits are conducted from October through May.

Enrollment Priority:

Enrollment priority is given to families committed to completing each three year developmental cycle.

Classroom Placement:

Classroom placements are made by the Brooksfield Staff, with every effort to maintain the balance within the classroom based on age and sex of the children.

Enrollment Notification:

In mid-March, a letter will be sent to you regarding the status of your child's application.
