As our students continue to learn and grow, so does Brooksfield and today we are at a crossroads. Currently our curriculum encompasses pre-K through 3rd grade. Throughout the years, parents have requested that the school consider expanding its curriculum through grade six. We have reached capacity at our current site at St. Dunstan’s Church in McLean and routinely maintain a waiting list. In addition, administrative space is at a premium. In order to meet these challenges, Brooksfield needs to expand to a new and permanent location.

Growing Brooksfield for a Greener Tomorrow Today Brooksfield is at a crossroads. Throughout the years, parents have requested that the school consider expanding its current pre-K through third grade curriculum to include grades four through six. After 22 years at St. Dunstan’s Church, we have reached capacity and routinely maintain a waiting list. In addition, administrative space is at a premium. In order to meet these challenges, Brooksfield needs to expand to a new and permanent location.
We are fortunate to have contracted a five-acre parcel with wide open spaces including a spring fed pond and mature trees at 9023 Old Dominion Drive in McLean/Great Falls. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage students from ages two through 12 on a LEED Certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) campus that will teach kids about the importance of environmental stewardship. Brooksfield will maintain its current preschool and kindergarten at 1830 Kirby Road in McLean and serve an additional 200 students at the new site. In addition, buses from the current campus to the new site will be provided for convenience and to help minimize traffic and environmental impact. For more information about the site and giving opportunities, please click on the links or contact Director of Development, Catherine Paschal, at 703.356.5437 ext. 4 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Vision: Our vision is to create a fully “green” school in Northern Virginia that will teach the value of conservation and sustainability to a new generation of American children. The new campus will include cottage-style buildings that blend with the existing neighborhood and provide an intimate setting for teaching young children. The proximity to Great Falls Park will allow us to expand the Outdoor Adventures Program and to incorporate it into the regular school day. The toddler program will provide a comfortable and nurturing environment designed to teach independent skills while exploring the many Montessori learning tools in each classroom. Children at this age level will experience the joy of forming new friendships with other toddlers while continuing to develop social skills. The new elementary school for grades 4 through 6 will build on the Montessori philosophy where children not only learn and share with one another, but have the opportunity to recognize their own mastery thus building confidence and competence. |
