Daily Activities : Campers follow a daily activity schedule that has been set specifically for their group. Everyone should arrive dressed for their first activity of the day. Following morning activities, campers will then eat lunch(full day campers only). Lunch is followed by afternoon activities for the full day campers. Activities will vary depending on the day and the group and will be led by Specialists (staff hired to facilitate a specific subject or interest) or the Group Counselors. Some sample activities include: Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Field Games, Nature and Gardening, Music/Movement/Drama, Yoga, Science, Arts & Literature, Tennis, and Adventure Field Trips.
Friday mornings after the first activity of the day are designated “All Camp Event” times. On these days, all of the groups gather together to experience some extra camp fun! Some of these events in the past have been: puppet shows, interactive theatre performances, magic shows, live animal encounters, camp carnivals, camp Olympics, and camp talent shows. Snack and Lunch: Brooksfield Summer Camp provides morning snack for all campers. Should a camper have food allergies he/she may be requested to provide their own snack. Full-day campers should bring a lunch everyday. We recommend bringing an insulated lunch bag with ice packs. Please note that we are a NUT FREE camp. Peanut butter sandwiches and similar nut products are not permitted. Thank you for helping keep Brooksfield campers safe! Children in the Kangaroos, Bears and Eagles groups will be asked to bring water bottles on Tennis Days. Back Eagles Adventure Trips : Eagles campers have the privilege of venturing off-campus for Adventure Field Trips one day per week. These days are the favorites of campers and counselors alike. Typically, Eagles will depart after morning swim and will return by 2:30pm in the afternoon. Campers will be advised in advance of what they will need to take with them that particular week. Past adventures have included hiking, orienteering, archery, canoeing, lake swimming, farm visits, nature programs, pony riding and horsemanship, ropes courses, and indoor rock climbing. Back Staff: Our staff consists of responsible young men and women who are creative, energetic, patient, and kind. All full-time staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid. Most of our staff are currently enrolled in or have graduated from a four year college or university. Some staff members even attended Brooksfield School when they were kids! The minimum age for a Group Counselor is 18 years old. Junior Counselors are 15-17 years old. We also welcome future counselors, ages 12-14 years of age for our CIT (Counselor-In-Training) Program. Prospective staff and CIT candidates should contact the Camp director. |
