Learning about cultures from all over the world is an important part of the Brooksfield Montessori School’s curriculum. Once a week, the Elementary Program takes a virtual trip around the world in a class that focuses on traditions from around the globe. The class uses performing arts to study the culture, beliefs and traditions of different countries. This year, the class has focused heavily on the Native American culture and Brooksfield’s little globe trotters have been working on developing original adaptations of two traditional stories. The production includes poetry, chants and dances inspired by the lives of the First American nations. The elementary school children, led by their teacher, Sandra, will perform their adaptations at a school assembly in the Spring. How exciting!
