In an effort to stay fit and learn about the importance of exercise and proper nutrition, the children of Brooksfield Montessori School, located in Northern Virginia, attend P. E. classes throughout the year. Led by their teacher, Mary, the children in the preschool Montessori program, the Kindergarten Montessori program and the elementary Montessori program participate in lively, age-appropriate, games and movement exercises. Last semester, the children worked on their jumping skills as well as on their dodge, catch and flee skills. They played games such as "skunk tag" and "stuff the turkey." And, on really cold days, students learned yoga poses and played indoor games that got them moving and shaking! What a fun way to be healthy!
