What is your role at Brooksfield School?
Family Support Specialist
What do you love about Brooksfield/ Why do you like working at Brooksfield?
What I love most about Brooksfield is that it feels like home. I was a student at Brooksfield when I was a child and I am so happy to have the privilege to now work here. The community that Brooksfield is able to build and maintain is truly impressive. So many of our alumni come back each year to visit and to work at our summer camp. I will always be grateful for the incredible education I received early on and the lifelong friendships that began at Brooksfield!
What sets Brooksfield apart from other Montessori schools?
I believe that Brooksfield is unique because as a staff we are constantly evolving and growing. We are so fortunate to be able to be trained in mindfulness and learn new practices that help us to be more effective in the classroom. It is also wonderful to be able to share our knowledge with our parent community. One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to hold parent coffees to share new interventions and work collaboratively to raise happy and healthy children. Brooksfield is a caring, supportive and positive environment that makes it fun to go to work every day!
Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself? Perhaps a fun fact?
Before working at Brooksfield I was a clinician at the National Counseling Group providing in-home therapy for children and families experiencing mental health crises. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and in addition to working as the Family Support Specialist at Brooksfield, I also have a private practice in McLean.
